If telemarketing company guarantees appointments... Run don't walk....

Let's put it this way, if every telemarketing firm guarantee's appointments or new leads for your business run.....don't walk. If we can see the future we would all be psychics and have the winning lottery number. We are not. Telemarketing firms want to make money and by doing that the promise the clients the moon.

We all want to make money from the telemarketing company to the firm that hires us. I wish we can tweak our nose and make 100 appointments happen. In all reality, it doesn't work that way. If you give us a list of people to call there is no way to predict how many appointments or leads we can obtain for your business that would be insane to make promises to you just to have you as a new client.

I myself called upon many telemarketing firms to see how many would PROMISE me leads. 7 out of 9 guaranteed me telemarketing appointments! I was ready to ask them if they had the winning lottery numbers. Hey, if they can promise me appointments, who knows. Think about it, how can any firm really predict how many appointments or new leads they are going to obtain for you??

That's one reason telemarketing has a bad name. It doesn't have to be like that. Just be honest to your client on the phone and make NO promises! Telemarketing is a numbers game. The more calls you make hopefully the more appointments you can make for the business that hired you.   But again, nothing is guaranteed and shouldn't be.

I have beautiful land to sell you oops, forgot to tell you it's in the middle of a swamp. Old saying "if it sounds to good to be true"it probably is. Don't get taken by a kind voice on the other end of the phone. Buyer beware.

Must be a people person

The most important part of being a telemarketer is you must be a people person. If your not a people person, it will show through in your voice. You must sell yourself over the phone. If you can't sell yourself this is not the right industry to be in.

People think talking to people on the phone is an easy job, it's not. The job isn't for everyone. You must be confident in yourself in order to sound confident over the phone otherwise, the person on the other end of the phone will know and it will turn off the prospective new client. You don't want that because, your job as a telemarketer is to drum up new clients for the company that hired you.

You can be a bubbly person but when it comes to making phone calls it's a different story. That's  why being confident in yourself is is important in this business. I can't stress this enough. Some people doing better in face to face sales rather than phone sales. Knowing what your good at is the key to being a great caller. Confidence - Confidence - Confidence.

A telemarketer is a person who is responsible for selling a product or service the phone. Suggestions for how to be the best telemarketer.
