Learn as much as you can about what product you are selling. You need to have a great understanding of what it is, how it works and how it may be useful to potential prospects. Also, you should have high confidence in what you are selling, and in its value to the people you will be calling.
A good telemarketer not only sells a product or service, but also sells the company they work for. You should be able to tell potential customers why they should choose you over your competitors.
Practice your script. Read it aloud until you are comfortable that you can deliver it without any prompts. Do this to overcome hurdles and answer any questions a prospect might have.
Telemarketing is a numbers game, and it takes time and persistence to develop good telemarketing skills. Commit to making a certain number of calls each day and see those calls through. The more calls the more chances of setting an appointment.
If the prospect sounds uninterested, say thank you and go to the next call.
Never ever give out any false information!
Always smile when talking the customer on the other end. They will hear the smile in your voice
Stay focused on making all your calls.
