People think talking to people on the phone is an easy job, it's not. The job isn't for everyone. You must be confident in yourself in order to sound confident over the phone otherwise, the person on the other end of the phone will know and it will turn off the prospective new client. You don't want that because, your job as a telemarketer is to drum up new clients for the company that hired you.
You can be a bubbly person but when it comes to making phone calls it's a different story. That's why being confident in yourself is is important in this business. I can't stress this enough.
